Services for Otis R. Nugent, Sr. will be at 2PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church, Harrisonburg, LA with Bro. Mark Johnson, Bro. Joel Ford and Bro. Bill Cotten officiating. Visitation will be from 5PM until 9PM Tuesday, April 4th and from 8AM until time of service at 2PM, Wednesday, April 5th at the church. Interment will be at Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.

Otis R. Nugent, Sr., 70, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Sue Nugent; parents, Arthur and Hazel Nugent; sister, Rubye Nell Walton and brother, Sammy Wayne Nugent.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patsy Kay Walton; daughter, Carrie Miller and husband Bubba of Harrisonburg; son, Raymond Nugent and wife Monyann of Rosefield; daughter, Melissa Tingle and husband Stevie of Belah; chosen daughter, Jennifer Grimm and husband Matt of Nebo; granddaughters, Britany Thompson and husband Cutler of Jena, Kelsie Allen and husband Josh of Harrisonburg; grandsons, Kyle Tingle and wife Kelsey, Justin Tingle, Tristen Townsend, Elijah Townsend, Trey Nugent, Brandin Grimm, Otis Drake Tingle arriving in May; great grandchildren, Logan Thompson, Maggie Thompson, Alivia Allen, Averie Allen and Rozlynn Tingle arriving in April; sister, Billie Netherland of Harrisonburg; nieces, nephews, extended family and cherished friends.

Pallbearers will be Trey Nugent, Cutler Thompson, Bill Wiley, Jared Stewart, Vernon Breland and John McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles “Skeeter” Kimbrough, Mickey Edwards, Robby Walton, Tony Walton, Ted Smart, Greg Byrnes, Elijah Townsend, Tristen Townsend, Kyle Tingle, Justin Tingle and Logan Tompson.

His love of God, showed each day in his smile, his laughter, his silly songs and his praise of God even during the struggles of life.
