The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of L.W. "Cub" Watson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Services for L.W. “Cub” Watson will be at 10AM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church, Jonesville, LA with Rev. Emmitt Belgard and Rev. Beau Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 6PM until 9PM, Thursday, June 1st and from 8AM until time of service at 10AM, Friday, June 2nd at the church. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Rhinehart, LA under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria.

L.W. “Cub” Watson was born in Clarks, LA on December 24, 1924 to the union of Luther and Beatrice (Poole) Watson and left this life Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was a proud US Army Veteran serving in the 754th Tank Battalion in WWII. Cub was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R.L. Watson, Melvin Watson, Lonnie Watson, Ray Watson and Louis Watson; sisters, Vera Rounton and Lula Morris; and granddaughters, Christy Watson and Tessa Watson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wilma (Bass) Watson; daughter, Lanette Book and husband Layne; son, Doyle Watson and wife Karen; grandson, Kevin Watson and wife Chasity; step grandson, Casey Book; step granddaughter, Hollie Sanders and husband Chris; two grandchildren, Harlee Dosher and Kyle Watson; 8 step grandchildren, LeAnna Dodge, Silton Book, Braeden Book, Cullen Book, Carson Sanders, Lannie Sanders, Isbella Book and Harper Book; special son and daughter, Kenny and Linda Creel.

Pallbearers will be Ken Wesley Creel, Donnie Michot, Kelton Bass, Bron Brown, Mark Taylor and Robin Andrews.
